Pro Movie
Clips
Ok, you've
peeped the Streetball clips. I'd like the focus of this website
to stay on those clips - they are shot right here on the courts
of London and represent the street game that this site is about.
However,
it is nice to watch the pros pullin' some street moves every
now and then - so here are a few clips for you to enjoy.
Iverson
shakes Jordan

This move
is legendary. When Allen Iverson came into the League as the
top pick of the 1997 draft there were plenty of haters.
The old cats didn't like his game - too flashy, too 'street'...too
much about "getting his".
He'd also done time in jail, ran with thugs and had tattoos.
However, when he was misquoted as saying that he did not respect
Michael Jordan all hell broke loose..Everyone wanted AI to fail.
So, when the Bulls came to Phili the spotlight was on the two
superstars.
Watch this clip - as Iverson realises that the Bulls have switched
(and that Jordan is marking him) he backs out to the three point
line - forcing MJ to come up top and guard him.
That's
when he puts the smack down. As Mike assumes the stance to D
Iverson you can almost see him say to himself "This little
thug ain't going to get the better of me."
How wrong he was.
Iverson gets him once with the crossover. Then, just as Mike
recovers, Allen hits him with the full force of the cross -
leaving MJ stumbling in the wrong direction.
Mike being Mike, he recovers and manages to get a hand in Iverson's
face...but it's too late. He's been shook and Al has hit the
jumper.
Poetry
in motion.
The Shamgod

I hear untold
people asking what "The Shamgod" is...so I've put
this clip on the site so you can see it as performed by its
originator.
God Shamgod played for the Providence Friars...and in 1997 he
led them to deep into the NCAA tourney after upsetting Duke
in the 2nd round.
This move is taken from that game.
Watch how he throws the ball out in front of him as if he's
about to explode forward and drive to the basket. Then, as his
defender buys it, he drags the ball back across his body and
changes direction - leaving the guy guarding him about seven
feet in the wrong direction!
A nice move when perfected (but it's tricky) - it's not as well
known as the Iverson crossover, so you can often get people
with it.
In case
you need more video to study - check out this one Sham pulls
against Arizona (left). It's closer to the camera so a little
easier to see exactly what happens.
Watch how
badly his man gets shook! They don't call him God for nothing.
More
clips coming soon!
